New Year, not quite the same me

It’s the first week in January. You’re halfway through your 3rd slice of extra cheese pizza (you had no food in the house - you had to eat something!)

You promised yourself you were going to start eating better, but yesterday you had a chocolate chip cookie for breakfast. (It was a holiday, doesn’t count right?)

You look in the mirror and have a stern talking to yourself… Must. Do. Better. No more midnight snacks. No more bottomless brunches. From now on it’s home-cooked meals, early morning workouts, superfoods, and as much spinach as you can possibly stomach.

Buuuuut… this week is nearly over and you’ve already fallen off track. No worries. You’ll get back up on the horse and try again.

But not today. Heavens no. You’ll start over again… on Monday.

Sound familiar???

I can’t tell you HOW MANY TIMES through my 4 plus decades this has been me.

Here’s some good news and bad news for you:

❌ The bad news is - if you continue on this path, making excuses like: “it’s too pricey…” “I don’t have enough time.” “It will never work for ME.” “I’m too old.” (Trust me - I’ve made them all.) You will NEVER change. At least not for the better.

✅ The GOOD news is - change doesn’t have to be as hard as you think.

✅ You don’t have to change your diet. In fact you can actually eat MORE (in the form of protein!)

✅ You don’t have to add in hours of exercise. (Heck - you don’t have to exercise at all if you don’t want to - exercise doesn’t actually help you LOSE weight 🤯. It helps you build muscle which burns fat - and that’s a good thing! But I digress!)

The ONLY change I made when I couldn’t get past my plateau was to take a look at my gut health. I started on the Fitness BundIe - which helped me get everything back into balance, probably the biggest of which was my sleep! And wouldn’t you know, that plateau was kicked to the curb. I so wish I hadn’t waited so many Mondays to get started. (Don’t be like me.)
